Product notes

Turmeric is a spice obtained from the rhizome of a plant in the ginger family, which is carefully dried and then ground into a powder. Recognisable by its magnificent orange-yellow colour, it is prized for its mild, slightly peppery flavour, with delicate earthy and warming notes.

An essential ingredient in many cuisines around the world, particularly Indian, Middle Eastern and Asian, turmeric lends a beautiful golden colour to dishes whilst adding a subtle aroma. It pairs perfectly with vegetables, meat, fish, rice, sauces, soups and stews.

Turmeric is also a key ingredient in many spice blends, including curry. Its mild flavour means it pairs easily with other spices such as cumin, coriander, ginger and cinnamon.

Tip: add turmeric at the start of cooking to fully bring out its flavours and give your dishes a lovely colour. A pinch is often enough to add flavour and vibrancy to your recipes.
