Product notes

Ground nutmeg is made from the nutmeg, the fruit of the nutmeg tree, which is carefully dried and then finely ground. This fine spice is prized for its warm, delicately woody and slightly sweet aroma, which adds a refined touch to many dishes.

Widely used in European, Middle Eastern and Creole cuisines, ground nutmeg complements both savoury and sweet dishes. It enhances purées, gratins, cream sauces, béchamel sauces, soups, vegetables, meat and fish. In baking, it adds a delicate flavour to cakes, biscuits, brioche and fruit desserts.

Its powerful yet elegant aroma blends harmoniously with other spices such as cinnamon, cloves, ginger and pepper. Just a small amount is enough to enrich the flavours of a dish and lend it warmth and depth.

Tip: add ground nutmeg sparingly towards the end of cooking or whilst cooking is in progress to preserve the full subtlety of its aromas and achieve perfect balance in your recipes.
