Product notes

Juniper berries are the fruit of the juniper, an evergreen shrub found in many parts of Europe. Harvested when ripe and then dried, these small blue-black berries are prized for their unique fragrance and rich aroma.

Their flavour is fresh, woody and resinous, with notes reminiscent of pine, citrus and a slight peppery hint. They add depth and character to dishes whilst retaining a lovely aromatic finesse.

Juniper berries are traditionally used to flavour game, marinated meats, terrines, pâtés, cabbage dishes, sauces and slow-cooked dishes. They also pair very well with marinades and charcuterie recipes, to which they lend an authentic flavour.

When lightly crushed before use, they fully release their aromas and enrich recipes with a woody, fragrant note. Valued for centuries for their flavour and digestive properties, juniper berries are a staple of traditional and refined cuisines.
