Product notes

The bird’s eye chilli is a small chilli renowned for its heat and intense aroma. Native to tropical regions, it is characterised by its small size, its bright red colour when ripe and its particularly pronounced heat.

Behind its small size lies a lively, warming flavour, blending fruity and slightly herbaceous notes. Its intensity instantly lifts dishes and leaves a lingering warmth on the palate.

Highly prized in Creole, African, Asian and Mediterranean cuisines, the bird’s eye chilli is used whole, crumbled or ground to flavour sauces, marinades, meat, fish, vegetables, soups and stews. A small amount is usually enough to give a dish character.

Used sparingly, it helps to balance flavours whilst adding an exotic and authentic touch. Bird’s eye chillies are the ideal choice for lovers of spicy flavours and cuisine full of character.
